How long is a typical therapy session?
An individual therapy session is generally 50 minutes. However, this time may vary based on the practitioner and the services offered.
At Mizu Psychotherapy, your therapist offers therapy in 30 minute or 50 minute blocks.
Is therapy only for individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition?
Absolutely not! Therapy is a conversation. It is broad and dynamic giving any individual, regardless of age, race, gender, background, etc., the opportunity to talk about and explore concerns they may be experiencing.
What if my therapy goals change – can I still suggest or modify any of these goals later on?
Yes – Therapy is all about you and your goals. At Mizu Psychotherapy, trust and transparency is key. Your thoughts about your goals are important so we will always work together to refine or adjust them based on your evolving needs.
Will anything I talk about or my information be shared with others?
No – Confidentiality is fundamental to therapy and your privacy is protected by law. There are, however, some legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, such as situations involving harm to the self or others (click here to refer to Important Information about Therapy).
